Long-term Spanish ownership with three owners from new, original finished in Dolphin Grey with a Red interior, currently finished in Light Ivory with a Black interior. Completed on October 8, 1963, this 356 was imported by Seida of Madrid and delivered new to its first owner, Alfonso Riviere, in Barcelona, Spain. The technical inspection booklet from the Spanish Ministry of Industry documents regular inspections from 1986 through 2019. According to the ITV Barcelona Inspection Booklet from 1967, in the notes, the engine was replaced with a period-correct flat-four SC engine rated at 95 horsepower.
In 2017, the engine received a professional top-end rebuild by marque specialist Valentin Motors in Barcelona, Spain. Recently, European Collectibles installed German charcoal square weave carpets and a soft top with a new pad and headliner. Mechanically, a comprehensive mechanical service was done along with a safety inspection that included replacing brake hoses, rear brake pads, fuel lines, gear oil, heater repairs, and a full tune-up on the engine.
Cosmetically, this 356 has some patina in the paint work, with original trim and brightwork. The interior also has some patina and features a VDM steering wheel, VDO instruments, headrests, and a radio delete plate. The wheels are 4½ x 15 chrome slotted wheels mounted to Continental ContiPro Contact 185 65 R15. The undercarriage is solid and rust-free and has been detailed.
Mechanically powered by a period-correct 1600cc flat-four SC engine producing 95 hp paired to a 4-speed manual transmission with a four-wheel disc braking system. Complete with a Porsche Kardex, a partial tool kit, boot cover, and spare wheel. This 1963 Porsche 356 SC Cabriolet is well-preserved and maintained. It is the final top-of-the-line model with the most horsepower, smooth shifting transmission, and disc brakes. It is the most drivable of the legendary 356 models.
