1959 Porsche 356A T2 Sunroof Coupe

• Chassis No. 107384
• Engine No. 73902 – Matching
• Transmission No. 27271 - Matching
• Original color combo Meissen Blue/Red

Factory Sunroof T2 Coupe finished in its original color combination of Meissen Blue over a Red leatherette interior with Oatmeal German square weave carpets. Beautifully condition and well sorted mechanically, with the matching engine and transmission, per the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. This 356A was delivered with many desirable options including a manual sunroof, headrests, silver metallic luggage rack, U.S. overrider bumpers, an outside mirror, Becker Europa radio, antenna, and chrome wheels,

The paintwork benefits from a bare metal respray in the original color of Meissen Blue by a recognized marque specialist, with great gaps, and panel fit. Original stamped body panels include the front and rear decklids both stamped “384”, and the fuel tank is date-coded 59. Other authentic details include original turn signal housings, taillight housings, shine-up license plate light, and a period-correct red-tip Hirschmann antenna with U.S overriders bumpers. The interior is well-preserved with VDO instrumentation, a factory VDM steering wheel with a deluxe horn ring, and a period-correct high-fidelity radio. The interior has been upholstered with German materials, including oatmeal square weave carpets, leather front seats, door panels, rear panels, dash, and headliner. The manual sunroof has the original Golde turn handle. The silver-painted 4.5” x 15” wheels with Baby Moon hubcaps are mounted to Vredestein Sprint Classic 165 15 tires (2024). The undercarriage is solid and rust-free, and the floor pans were stripped to bare metal and fully detailed to show-level condition.

European Collectibles sold this 356A to its current owner in 2015, who has maintained it since. In 2020, Patrick Motorsports serviced the 356, replacing sump plate gaskets, valve cover gaskets, and the fuel filter and adjusting the front wheel bearings. In 2024, the original Zenith carburetors were professionally rebuilt by 356 Carb Rescue. Most recently, this 356 was fully detailed and tuned by European Collectibles.

Mechanically, this 356A is in excellent condition and is a pleasure to drive. Powered by the matching 1600cc Normal air-cooled flat-four engine (Type 1600) delivering 60 horsepower with dual Zenith carburetors. A four-speed manual transmission (Type 716) shifts smoothly with a four-wheel hydraulic drum braking system. Offered with a jack, tool kit, owner's manual, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, service records, and a spare wheel. This 1959 Porsche 356A T2 Sunroof Coupe represents a rare opportunity to acquire a matching-number example in the original color combination, equipped with one of the most sought-after options of the era, a factory sunroof.
