1967 Porsche 911S 2.0L Coupe

Recently restored by a marque specialist, finished in a desirable factory color combination with the matching engine. According to the Porsche Kardex, this 911S Coupe was distributed by Porsche of America in Teaneck, New Jersey, to the first owner, Walter Luftman, in Rye, New York. The 911S was originally ordered in Light Ivory (color code 6604) with Black Leatherette upholstery and was equipped with a Webasto gas heater, Blaupunkt Frankfurt AM/FM radio, an antenna, a loudspeaker, a Talbot mirror, headrests, and Dunlop 165 15 tires.

Over 18 months, a marque specialist performed a concours restoration. The 911 S was completely disassembled, and the body was stripped, metal-finished, and prepped for paint. The paintwork is impeccable, with perfect gaps and panel fit. The exterior features triple-plated brightwork, new rubber seals, aluminum trim, and original glass. Additional exterior enhancements include Hella 128 fog lights for greater night-time visibility and 4 ½" x 15" Fuchs alloy wheels fitted with Michelin XZX 165 15 tires. The undercarriage is solid and rust-free, fully detailed, and the suspension and hardware components have been CAD plated to factory specifications.

The upholstery was upholstered in the correct German black vinyl, including comfort seats with houndstooth inserts, rear seats, dash, door panels, rear panels, and headliner with Haargan carpets. Featuring a VDM wooden steering wheel with butterfly horn ring and restored VDO green/black instrumentation with a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio.

Mechanically powered by the matching 2.0L flat-six engine (Type 901/02) producing 160hp with 132 foot-pounds of torque at 5200 rpm, paired to a manual 5-speed dog-leg transmission (Type 901/02) with a four-wheel disc braking system. The engine, transmission, and suspension have been completely rebuilt, and this 911S drives phenomenally. All the braking components are new, including the brake rotors, brake pads, brake lines, master cylinder, and brake calipers, which have been rebuilt.

Complete with the Porsche Classic Technical Certificate (CTC), Porsche Kardex, copy of the Porsche Production Specification, tool kit, jack, spare 4.5” Fuch wheel, photo documentation of the restoration, and service records. The 1967 911 S was the first 911 to have more horsepower than the base model, with 160 horsepower compared to the base model's 130 horsepower. It also had one of the lightest chassis and the lightest 2.0-liter "S" engine with only 2,271 lbs of curb weight. This 911S, presented in its factory color combination, retains its matching engine, making it an impressive addition to any collection.

In 1966, for the 1967 model year, Porsche introduced the 911 S. With the “S” standing for “SUPER,” the 911 S received a power boost from 130 hp to 160 hp, as well as a modified suspension with an added rear anti-roll bar and adjustable Koni shock absorbers. In 1969, Porsche lengthened the 911's wheelbase by 2.4 inches to improve stability, making the 1967-1968 short-wheelbase 911 S a rare and desirable variant.
