1973 Porsche 911 RSR Tribute (Built on a 1971 911E chassis)

Ideal Vintage Event Car - Straight/Dry Chassis with Steel Flares

Ever since Porsche released the RS and RSR in late 1972 these were always in high demand. Porsche increased production to allow for nearly triple the initial homologation production requirements. Original RS's and RSR's have reached stratospheric pricing, making them unreachable for most.

This 911E is a nice fun driver that won't break the bank. The former owner/builder planned this project out over a 3-year build. He found the donor chassis: 1971 911E Coupe that was solid with no rust. He spent the next year gathering parts and spending hundreds of hours on Pelican Parts forms doing his research.

The build of this 911 is listed below:

Body
Turbo steel flares (front & rear)
Bare-metal repaint finished in Titanium Silver
TRE Fiberglass hood, bumpers & ducktail

1979 930 4-piston Brenbo calipers and rotors with 23mm master cylinder with hard brake lines

Fuel Tank - Fuel Safe fuel cell – bolt in

Engine
3.6-liter, 964 bottom end, 993 heads, 964 cam towers, 993 super sport solid lifters cams, with computer and chipped with a M&K exhaust, dynoed at 274 rear wheel horse power & 273 rear wheel lbs torque. Engine was built by Jae Lee

Oil System

Interior
Sparco Evo 2 Seats with light weight mounts, harness, RSR roll bar with welded base mounts, RS Perlon carpets with rear seat delete. Sparco Ring steering wheel, rebuilt pedle cluster & Rennline aluminum floor boards

The total weight estimated at 2,200 lbs.

This RSR is a really fun 911 to drive with a TON of horse power and a unbelievable sound. It looks great but it isn't so perfect that you are afraid to use it. The paint looks nice with some signs of use with some minor rock chips as to be expected. The interior is very nice as well with sport buckets seats in excellent shape. All the gauges were restored by North Hollywood Speedometer.

This RSR is a really fun and easy 911 to drive. It is very well balanced with excellent throttle response. It fires up easily and holds an even idle. There is no hesitation in the power. It is smooth and pulls hard throughout the rev range. The 915 gearbox shifts smoothly with no synchro issues and the clutch feels good with no slipping. The brakes operate properly and the pedal position is perfect. This 911 would be excellent for any vintage rally or touring event.
