European Collectibles purchased this 356SC Coupe a few years ago and sold it to a very good client in Los Angeles who drove & enjoyed it. Extremely nice driving 356 SC Coupe with plenty of horsepower, in excellent condition and drives, as it should! Ready for cars & coffee, a car show or many miles of pure enjoyment.
Specification
1,582 cc OHV air-cooled horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine, outputting 95HP, with dual 40 Solex carburetors, four-speed manual 741 transmission, independent front suspension with laminated torsion bars, parallel trailing arms, and tubular shock absorbers, independent rear swing axles with torsion bars and tubular shock absorbers, and four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes. The 356 SC is truly one of the BEST 356s to drive.
History
The 356 was a lightweight and nimble-handling rear-engine rear-wheel-drive 2-door sports car available in hardtop coupé and open configurations. Engineering innovations continued during the years of manufacture, contributing to its motorsports success and popularity. However, when the T6 got disc brakes in 1964, with no other visible alterations, they called it the model C, or the SC when it had the optional extra powerful engine. The last revision of the 356 was the 356C introduced for the 1964 model year. It featured disc brakes all round, as well as an option for the most powerful pushrod engine Porsche had ever produced, the 95-horse power (71 kW) "SC".
