1958 Porsche 356A T2 Coupe

Finished in Silver Metallic (608), the original color, with Black leatherette interior according to the Certificate of Authenticity. Beautiful paint with nice chrome and exterior trim. The Black leatherette interior is in very nice condition with date-coded (9/57) seat hinges, VDO instrumentation, second-hand clock, day/night rearview mirror, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM Radio. The fuel tank and fuel sending unit are also date-coded 9/57. The undercarriage is very solid and rust-free.

Mechanically powered by its matching 1600cc flat-four Normal (60 horsepower) engine that runs flawlessly paired to a 644 manual 4-speed transmission with a four-wheel hydraulic drum brake system that stops the car perfectly. A top-end engine rebuild was recently completed including new rod bearings, new piston and cylinder set, rebuilt cylinder heads, all the sheet metal was detailed and reassemble. A new clutch and pressure plate were installed and the flywheel was surfaced and balanced. Complete with spare tire, jack, tool kit, manual, and Certificate of Authenticity. 356A Coupes have become extremely hard to find. History
In late 1955, with numerous small but significant changes, the 356 A was introduced. Its internal factory designation, "Type 1", gave rise to its nickname "T1" among enthusiasts. In the US 1,200, early 356s had been badged as the "Continental" and then a further 156 from autumn 1955 to January 1956 as an even rarer T1 “European” variant after which it reverted to its numerical 356 designation. In early 1957, a second revision of the 356 A was produced, known as Type 2 (or T2).
