Tastefully modified to “Turbo S” specification with two (2) owners from new. Finished in a special ordered color combination of Bahama Blue (398) with a Tan leather interior. Originally delivered to Mr. Shelton on August 15, 1978, by Dave Stong's Porsche Audi in Salt Lake City, Utah. The original warranty booklet documents that the first 1,000 miles of service was conducted by Dave Strong's Porsche | Audi on June 7, 1979. Optional equipment from the factory includes U.S. equipment, Limited Slip Differential, Electric and heated Outside Mirror- Passenger Side, Light Alloy Wheels, Electric Sliding Sunroof, and Pirelli tires.

By 1991, the Turbo was purchased by the second owner, who had the 930 transported to Huntington Beach, California. On January 10, 1999, at 74,758 miles, the engine was removed, disassembled, cleaned, and inspected to begin the performance upgrades necessary to bring the engine to “Turbo S” specification by Rice's Performance Porsches. The build consists of Mahle pistons & cylinders sourced from Andial, ZeroTime crankshaft, modified heads, 964 head gaskets, Carrera chain tensioners, Rice's Performance Turbo S cams, B&B headers & exhaust system, K-27 turbocharger, C-2 turbo intercooler, Rice's performance adjustable wastegate, and an ANDIAL fuel enrichment system with variable boost controller. A stainless-steel lightweight flywheel with center force carbon street dual friction disc and pressure plate were installed. Rice's Performance also installed a custom manifold pressure gauge. The braking was upgraded to 993 Turbo “Big Red” brakes. The suspension was upgraded with Bilstein shocks and Netrix spring plates. The result of the work performed has increased the performance to an estimated 425 + horsepower. All subsequent services have been performed by Rice's Performance Porsche. In 2018, the 930 Turbo was shown at the Orange Coast PCA White Glove Concours where it won first in class, and again at the San Diego PCA White Glove Concours where it placed second in class.

The paintwork is in exceptional condition and shows incredibly well with a modified front valance, integrated fog lights, and original glass. The upholstery is all original and displays the correct amount of patina for its age with no rips or tears. A three-spoke Porsche Classic Sport Steering Wheel sits ahead of factory VDO instrumentation, an Alpine AM/FM radio, and a custom boost gauge by Rice's Performance. An adjustable boost and fuel controllers have been added underneath the radio unit along with an Air/Fuel sensor mounted underneath the speedometer. The 18” Kinesis K-28 wheels have been upgraded and mounted to Michelin Pilot Sport 225 40 ZR18 front and 285 30 ZR18 rear tires.

Mechanically, powered by its original 3.3-liter turbo engine (Type 930/61) which has been modified to a 3.4-liter specification and is capable of outputting over 425hp. Power is sent to the rear wheels through its matching 4-speed manual transmission (Type 930/34) for all Turbos with a ZF limited slip differential. Complete with a toolkit, original collapsible spare wheel, jack, 1978 Turbo owner's manual, original warranty and maintenance booklet, logbook of work performed including special custom fuel and boost diagrams, and a Certificate of Authenticity. A unique opportunity to acquire a very rare, paint-to-sample, 930 Turbo that has been extensively modified and well cared for.
