One (1) owner, Southern California M5 finished in its original color combination - Alpine White III (300) with Black leather upholstery. Only 2.5% (approximately 248) of the U.S. M5 production from 1999-2003 were painted in Alpine White III. Purchased new from Sterling BMW in Newport Beach, California, and equipped from the factory with a limited-slip differential, glass sunroof, xenon headlights, quad exhaust outlets, power-adjustable heated sport seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, fog lights, and a trunk lip spoiler. The M5's complete and comprehensive service file reflects over $17,000 in services within the last five years, and all subsequent services were mostly dealer-performed.

The paintwork is in excellent overall condition. The upholstery is beautifully preserved and is trimmed in Black Nappa leather with burl walnut wood accents and an Alcantara headliner. Additional equipment includes dual-zone automatic climate control, an onboard computer cruise control, an alarm system, a six-disc CD changer, navigation, and M Audio with enhanced bass. Staggered 18” M double-spoke light cast alloy wheels with a satin chrome finish are fitted to new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires (dated 2022).

Mechanically powered by a 5-liter dual overhead cam (DOHC) 32-valve aluminum V8 engine with 394hp @6600rpm and 368 lb/ft of torque @3800rpm. Six (6) speed manual transmission with heavy-duty clutch and direct 1:1 fifth gear. The performance figures are a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 4.8 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. In testing, an unrestricted M5 reached a top speed of over 186 mph. The E39 M5 recorded a Nürburgring lap time of 8:20. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag 420G six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with 25% maximum locking. Four-wheel ventilated discs handle braking, and the car is equipped with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Servotronic power steering, and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC).
