1968 Meyers Manx

Believed to be one of the first few hundred examples produced in 1968, this very desirable and early “Pre-Tag” Manx has been authenticated by the Meyers Manx Club and signed off by Bruce Meyers. Serial No. M1438B822E was manufactured in February 1968 by Meyers Manx in Newport Beach, California and has remained in Newport Beach ever since.

Finished in Royal Blue Metallic, the paintwork exhibits a fair amount of patina and retains its original Dietz 820 headlights, dual side mirrors, and a Monza-style gas cap. The interior is equipped with Dester sport seats trimmed in Black vinyl, a Speedway Classic steering wheel, an EMPI gear shift lever, a set of black CoCo mats, and a roll bar. Period correct slotted 15″ alloy wheels are mounted with staggered BF Goodrich radial T/A tires. The undercarriage is in great condition, with solid floors and no compromise to the fiberglass tub.

Mechanically powered by a single port 1600cc flat-four engine that has been rebuilt with new pistons and cylinders, EMPI heads, and an Engel 100 cam. A new clutch, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing have also been installed. The Manx is powered by a 12 volt system with a manual 4-speed swing axle transmission, and a drum braking system. Complete with Meyers Certificate of Authenticity, this is an excellent opportunity to acquire a Newport Beach built Meyers Manx that is in excellent mechanical condition and is ready to enjoy.
